Construction is a high-risk business, so safety at LCDC is always a top priority. Finishing a job is important, but finishing it without incident is most important. The safety of any project is at the forefront of the planning stages. We leave nothing to chance, which is how LCDC has maintained one of the demolition industries’ lowest accident/incident rates since being formed in 1973. This low incident rate is because we insist all employees and subcontractors have the same commitment to safety and that they strictly adhere to all safety rules and regulations. We provide ongoing safety performance programs for our employees and assign experienced field managers and supervisors to all of our projects.
As our Safety and Health Manager and Vice President, Phillip M. Mapp, has said, “At this company, safety is second nature,” but rest assured, it is never second-rate. Our goal is to keep our employees and clients safe at all times during a project. LCDC maintains a comprehensive, up-to-date safety and health program that reflects industry regulatory changes and current best practices. The safety and health program is managed by a Safety and Health Director that is a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) and a Certified Hazardous Material Manager (CHMM). LCDC’s safety director has over 25 years’ experience in heavy industrial demolition projects and assists LCDC’s Site Safety Officers with developing site-specific safety and health programs for each project. The safety director is an authorized OSHA Outreach Program Instructor for Construction, therefore qualified to provide 10 to 30 hours of service, OSHA-developed courses, as well as a 40-hour Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER).
LCDC project personnel are also involved with implementing an LCDC-developed “Hazard Recognition Program” that encourages workers to recognize, record, and report potential hazards in their workplace. The employees that report the most and more serious hazard potentials are recognized at company-sponsored events.
Our clients’ and employees’ safety are part of our dedication to delivering quality service. Each project has its own safety issues, so we ensure each team member understands the risks and knows the precautions to take to avoid incidents.
At LCDC, safety is not a luxury; it is a necessity.
Environmental remediation deals with the removal of pollution or contaminants from environmental media such as soil, groundwater, sediment, or surface water.
May it be the purchase and relocation of a process unit, or complete facility, the demolition and dismantling must be very precise to the detail. Buildings for the industrial sector are usually unique cacies.
The demolition industry is making way for a better world, helping communities re-invent and re-imagine their future and the National Demolition Association is here to provide support.
The physical assets of any large organization (from manufacturing and office equipment to entire buildings) wear out or are no longer needed where they were originally put into service.
Plant dismantling is a crucial process that involves the recycling of scrap materials such as metal and the process of reusing assets as well. It is not an easy process and they can be costly.
